Do you need to book Cordoba Alzacar tickets?
It is not necessary to book Cordoba Alcazar tickets in advance. You can purchase them at the ticket office the same day you arrive. However, in my experience, it can be extremely long queues, especially in peak season.
There is also no guarantee that you will enter the monument straight away. You must choose a time slot for entry and on busy days, you might have to wait for a few hours before there’s a free entry time.
So if you prefer spending your precious time exploring the city rather than standing in long queues, I highly recommend booking in advance.

How to get Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos Cordoba tickets
Onsite
You can purchase tickets for the Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos onsite but note that the ticket machines and office are across the street from the entrance.
If you miss it, you can ask at the entrance and they will point you in the right direction.
In my experience, there are always large queues, especially at the ticket booth. You might save some time getting in queue for one of the ticket machines (though that also depends on the people in front of you in the queue and how fast they are.)
You must choose an available entrance time and wait to enter the monument until your time slot.

They sell general entrance tickets for individual visits to the monument without a guide. You can also purchase these online from the official website as mentioned above. These have no cancellation policy.
Guided tours
You can get guided tours of the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. I highly recommend this as there is so much intriguing history to the castle that you’ll miss out on otherwise.
I truly enjoyed it both times I opted for a guided tour of the castle. Not only can you book the tour online so it’s easy to plan your visit to the city – whether you have 2 days in Cordoba or only one, it’s good to avoid wasting time in ticket queues and instead experience the sites you want to see.
For a more personalized experience, I highly recommend taking this private tour of the Alcazar.
Joint tickets
There are also joint tickets where you get a tour of several of the attractions in Cordoba. This is ideal if you’re planning on seeing more of the city, especially if you’re short on time and want to explore it all on the same day.
It can be joint tickets for the Alcazar, the Mosque-Cathedral, and the Synagogue with a group tour or a private guide for example.
Here are the best joint tickets for Alcazar Cordoba:
Mosque-Cathedral, Alcazar & Synagogue group tour
This is a great tour of three of the main monuments in Cordoba, the Alcazar, the Mosque-Cathedral, and the Synagogue.
Known for its three religions that have influenced both history and culture in Cordoba, it gives you a deep insight into the city’s roots.
It is run by OWAY Tours which I’ve only had good experiences with, their guides are super knowledgeable and friendly!
Besides, this is a small group tour making it easier to ask questions throughout the tour and they provide an audio device making it easier to hear the guide.
Private Tour: Mosque-Cathedral, Jewish quarter, Alcazar, and Synagogue
For a more personalized experience, I suggest getting this private tour of the Alcazar, Mosque-Cathedral, Synagogue, and Jewish Quarter.
The guide will explain everything about the multi-religious culture that has been so important in Cordoba’s history.
It’s a great way to get closer to the guide for asking questions and understanding the sites you visit.
