Mijas Pueblo is by far one of the quiet places to stay near Malaga, even though it’s getting quite touristy with tourist buses coming up in the daytime. Here are some excellent hotel options.

BUDGET: La Posada de Mijas – a lovely, family-run place with rooms and apartments. It’s located in the heart of Mijas Pueblo and is an excellent budget option!

Quiet places to stay near Malaga - Mijas Pueblo

La Cala de Mijas

La Cala de Mijas is a top contender if you’re looking for places to stay near Malaga Spain with a relaxed beach vibe.

Situated on the famed Costa del Sol, it boasts inviting golden sandy stretches, making it a haven for those eager to lounge under the sun or take peaceful shoreline walks.

But the appeal continues beyond the beaches. Right along the coast, numerous beachfront dining establishments beckon. These spots serve a delightful array of local dishes.

The town’s ambiance is laid-back and authentically Mediterranean, with narrow streets, local shops, and a friendly community offering plenty of things to do in Mijas.

After calling La Cala de Mijas home for several years, I do have a sweet spot for this little town. Especially with the picturesque coastal walk taking you all the way to Cabopino, being one of my favorite things to do in La Cala de Mijas.

BUDGET: Los Amigos Beach Club – a great apartment hotel only a short walk to the beach. It’s super kid-friendly with several pools and a spa. If you don’t want to cook in, there is a restaurant and a bar on the property. It’s only a few minute’s drive from La Cala de Mijas town center.
